The company is recognized for providing reliable, high‑quality service and for operating efficiently in ports with challenging access and permanent restrictions.Role Description The Marine Engineer will work full time on site in Panama City, overseeing the technical condition and safe operation of NAVESCO’s vessels. Day‑to‑day responsibilities include planning and executing maintenance and repairs of marine machinery and systems, monitoring performance and fuel efficiency, and ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and class regulations. The role involves diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues, coordinating with shipboard and shore‑based teams, and maintaining accurate technical records and reports. The Marine Engineer will support dry‑dock and inspection activities, contribute to continuous improvement of technical procedures, and collaborate with operations to minimize downtime and optimize vessel reliability.Qualifications Candidates should possess strong experience in the marine industry, including exposure to maritime operations and commercial shipping.Candidates should possess solid Marine Engineering knowledge, including shipboard machinery, propulsion systems, and auxiliary equipment.Candidates should possess skills in maintenance and repair of marine systems, with the ability to plan, supervise, and execute corrective and preventive tasks.Candidates should possess familiarity with navy or similar disciplined maritime environments and safety standards.Relevant engineering degree in Marine Engineering or a related field, or equivalent professional certification.Knowledge of international maritime regulations, class rules, and safety and environmental standards.Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, with attention to detail and a focus on safety and reliability.Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with multicultural shipboard and shore‑based teams.Willingness to travel to vessels, shipyards, and ports as operational needs require.
