Senior Drupal Developer

About the Company

We are seeking an experienced and highly analytical Senior Drupal Developer with 5+ years of experience to lead the architecture, development, and modernization of enterprise-level CMS systems.

About the Role

In this role, you will be a technical leader within the Drupal ecosystem, responsible for custom module development, content publishing workflows, integrations, and contributing to the overall Drupal development roadmap. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, scalable, and high-performing digital experiences while providing technical guidance and mentorship to other developers.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain enterprise Drupal implementations, including Drupal 11+.Develop custom Drupal modules, themes, and API integrations.Design and maintain robust database schemas and write high-performance queries.Support complex data migrations, disaster recovery planning, and system integrations.Conduct security reviews and optimize application performance through caching and query optimization.Lead technical decision-making and establish development standards and best practices.Perform code reviews and provide mentorship to junior and mid-level developers.Collaborate with front-end and cross-functional teams to support CMS and digital projects.Troubleshoot complex technical and architectural issues.

Qualifications

5+ years of professional backend web development experience.4+ years of dedicated Drupal development experience.

Required Skills

Strong knowledge of Drupal core, custom module development, Form API, Twig, Drush, and the Drupal module ecosystem.Strong proficiency in PHP and object-oriented programming (OOP).Advanced database experience with MySQL/MariaDB and/or PostgreSQL.Experience building and consuming RESTful and GraphQL APIs.Familiarity with front-end technologies and experience collaborating with front-end development teams.Experience with Composer, Git, CI/CD, and local development environments such as DDEV, Lando, or Docker.Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.Ability to make sound technical decisions and solve complex architectural challenges.Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Strong collaboration, leadership, and mentoring abilities.

Preferred Skills

Experience with Cloudflare, including Workers, KV, and WAF.Experience deploying and managing applications on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).Acquia or Drupal Association certifications.Knowledge of cloud hosting patterns and technologies such as Kubernetes and serverless functions.
