The Senior Investment Analyst plays a key role within Portfolio Management and Advisory team. This position is responsible for conducting indepth macroeconomic, market, and investment research to support the firm's investment strategy and client portfolios. The successful candidate will contribute to security selection, portfolio construction, risk management, client reporting, and strategic investment recommendations across multiple asset classes.
Beyond traditional investment analysis, the role also supports the firm's broader advisoryactivities, including private equity, structured financing, capital raising, and other bespokeinvestment transactions. The Senior Investment Analyst works closely with the Head ofAdvisory, Portfolio Managers, Operations, and Compliance to deliver exceptional investmentoutcomes and continuously improve the firm's investment and operational processes.
This position is ideal for an intellectually curious, commercially minded investmentprofessional who enjoys combining rigorous research with practical portfolio managementand client advisory responsibilities.
Key ResponsibilitiesInvestment Research & Strategy• Lead macroeconomic, geopolitical, and market research to identify emerging trends,opportunities, and risks.• Analyze global equity, fixed income, alternative investments, commodities, currencies,and other asset classes.• Develop investment theses supported by detailed financial, quantitative, andfundamental analysis.• Produce timely research reports, market commentary, and investmentrecommendations.• Monitor economic data releases, central bank policy, earnings, valuations, and marketdevelopments.
Portfolio Management• Monitor client portfolios to ensure alignment with investment objectives, mandates, andrisk parameters.• Identify portfolio risks and recommend appropriate portfolio adjustments.• Conduct ongoing performance attribution and portfolio analytics.• Recommend buy, sell, and hold decisions across equities, fixed income, ETFs, mutualfunds, structured products, and alternative investments.• Support asset allocation decisions and portfolio construction.• Assist in implementing investment decisions and portfolio rebalancing.• Monitor concentration, liquidity, duration, credit, and other portfolio risks.• Support the ongoing management of discretionary, non-discretionary and advisory clientportfolios and mandates.
Security Analysis• Perform company, industry, macroeconomic, valuation, and credit analysis across assetclasses.• Analyze equities, fixed income, structured products, ETFs, mutual funds, alternatives, andother investment securities.• Evaluate investment managers, funds, and third-party products for performance andclient suitability.
Client Support & Reporting• Prepare investment reports, portfolio reviews, and client presentation materials.• Assist Portfolio Managers in communicating investment strategies and marketdevelopments to clients.• Prepare market updates, investment commentaries, and educational material.• Support responses to client investment inquiries and requests.• Participate in client meetings where appropriate.• Support business development and client origination initiatives by contributinginvestment research, proposal materials, pitch presentations, and customizedinvestment solutions for prospective and existing clients.
Advisory & Transaction Support• Support private equity transactions, corporate financing, debt placements, structuredfinance solutions, and capital raising initiatives.• Assist with financial modelling, due diligence, investment memoranda, valuation work,transaction analysis, and deal execution support.• Provide analytical support to the Head of Advisory and Portfolio Managers on strategictransactions and special projects.
Operations & Cross-Functional Collaboration• Work closely with the Operations and Compliance teams to improve operationalworkflows and client service.• Ensure investment activities comply with internal policies and regulatory requirements.• Support onboarding of new investment products and platforms.• Assist with operational projects that improve efficiency and scalability.• Contribute to automation and process improvement initiatives.
Investment Tools & Process Improvement• Develop financial models and analytical tools.• Improve portfolio monitoring systems and reporting capabilities.• Enhance investment research processes and databases.• Utilize technology and data analytics to improve investment decision-making.• Identify opportunities to automate recurring analytical and operational tasks.
Qualifications
Education• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Accounting,Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Quantitative Finance, or a related discipline.• A Master's degree is considered an asset.
Professional Qualifications• Progress toward the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.SMV Securities Analyst License (Licencia de Corredor de Valores y Analista) preferred; strong commitment to obtaining and maintaining the license is essential. • Other relevant investment or financial market certifications are advantageous.
Experience• 3–5 years of relevant experience in Investment Management, Asset Management, Wealth Management, Investment Advisory, Equity Research, Fixed Income Research, Corporate Finance, Investment Banking, Capital Markets, Financial Advisory or related field. • Experience supporting investment portfolios, conducting investment research, or advising clients is highly desirable.
Languages • Fluency in English (written and verbal) is required. • Professional proficiency in Spanish is considered an asset.
Technical Skills • Strong financial statement analysis and investment research capabilities. • Equity and fixed income analysis. • Portfolio management principles and asset allocation. • Financial modelling and valuation. • Advanced Excel proficiency. • Bloomberg, FactSet, Morningstar, or similar platforms preferred. • Strong PowerPoint and presentation skills.• Familiarity with portfolio management systems is an asset.
