Senior Revenue Accountant

StevenDouglas has been exclusively engaged to fill an outstanding Senior Revenue Accountant opportunity with a high-growth software company in Austin, Texas.
About the RoleReporting to the Revenue Accounting Manager, this role will execute monthly and quarterly accounting processes for revenue-related areas under US GAAP reporting requirements, while contributing to the broader transformation and growth of the accounting function.
ResponsibilitiesReview contracts and determine appropriate accounting treatmentPrepare technical accounting memos, primarily on revenue-related topics but extending to other areas as neededPrepare and analyze the deferred revenue waterfall schedule supporting the total recorded deferred revenue balancePrepare monthly journal entries for revenue-related areas under both US GAAP and statutory reporting requirementsExecute assigned responsibilities within the monthly close process, ensuring all items on the close checklist are completedSupport process improvements, risk mitigation, and internal control enhancements across the revenue processSupport the external audit process, including preparation of audit support schedules and analytical review documentation related to revenue and contract costsCollaborate within a team environment to share knowledge and informationCommunicate status, progress, and challenges clearly and promptly, both in person and remotely, to ensure timely completion and review of deliverablesContribute to the implementation of NetSuite and other systems and toolsPerform other duties as assigned
QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field requiredCPA or Master's degree preferred5+ years of progressive accounting experience (Big 4 experience a plus)Technology industry experience a plus
Required SkillsWorking knowledge of US GAAP and ASC 606Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.)Excellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong analytical and organizational skills
Preferred SkillsExperience with NetSuite, Power BI, AI
