Overview of the role
The Senior SQL Server DBA will be responsible for leading database administration initiatives and ensuring the performance, availability, and security of critical SQL Server environments. This role involves optimizing database systems, mentoring DBA teams, and setting the standard for database operations excellence.
Key responsibilities
- Managing and optimizing SQL Server environments with a focus on performance, availability, and security.- Leading technical decisions and providing guidance on database infrastructure and operations.- Mentoring junior and mid-level DBAs in SQL Server best practices and administration techniques.- Implementing and maintaining backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.- Monitoring database performance and proactively identifying optimization opportunities.- Collaborating with development and infrastructure teams to ensure database reliability and scalability.
Requirements
- SQL Server Administration: 4+ years of hands-on experience.- Technical Expertise: Strong expertise in SQL Server configuration, maintenance, and performance tuning.- Advanced Operations: Extensive experience with backup and recovery procedures, high availability solutions, and disaster recovery planning.- Leadership: Proven ability to lead technical projects and mentor DBA teams.- Deep Knowledge: Deep understanding of database security, monitoring tools, and troubleshooting methodologies.- Language Proficiency: Advanced level of English.
