About the role
MDB Capital S.A is seeking a Staff Accountant to work as an embedded member of a client’s team. The role involves owning assigned workstreams end-to-end, handling moderate-to-complex accounting tasks with minimal supervision, and adapting to the client’s ERP, AP platform, or reporting tools.
The role calls for judgment, ERP fluency, proficiency with analytical tools including advanced Power BI and Excel, and professionalism when interacting directly with client teams as needed.
Responsibilities
- Own AP, AR, and cash transaction processing for assigned clients end-to-end, handling standard workflows without supervision.
- Process high volumes of invoices, payments, and bank transactions across multiple entities and accounts simultaneously.
- Identify and proactively resolve coding errors, duplicate entries, missing approvals, and process gaps.
- Complete bank reconciliations and escalate only genuinely unresolvable items.
- Maintain accurate AP aging, AR aging, and cash position reports.
- Prepare and post recurring and non-recurring journal entries, including prepaid amortization, depreciation, accruals, deferred revenue, intercompany eliminations, and reclassifications.
- Accurately maintain and update amortization, depreciation, warrant, and IB schedules each month.
- Support intercompany due-to and due-from reconciliation entries across multiple entities.
- Execute month-end close tasks.
Requirements
- Background exposure to rigorous accounting environments, such as Big 4 or regional junior audit firm experience, operational US-based client-facing roles, or financial services.
- Ability to work with close deadlines, multi-entity structures, and strict data accuracy expectations.
- Advanced Excel and Power BI proficiency, ERP fluency, and analytical tools proficiency.
