Yard Supervisor

Salary ranges from:$65,000 - $80,000 + up to 10% in bonuses
Shift time:Monday-Friday: 4:00pm-2:00pm

Yard SupervisorIdeal Candidate Requirements:Experience in managing a team, preferably in transportation operationsA thorough understanding of the LTL trucking industryPrior management, dispatch and dock experience required, preferably in LTL trucking industryMust have strong leadership skills including the ability to hire, coach, counsel, train, and mentor employeesDesire to surround customer with excellence in serviceHigh aptitude for technologyThe ability to multi-task while being detail orientedExcellent written, listening and verbal communication skillsMust be willing to work 50 hours/week averageMust be able to work any shift including nights and/or weekends and in any weather conditionMust be capable of working under tight time constraints in a high-pressure environment with multiple prioritiesAn Associate or Bachelor’s Degree, preferred but not required
Duties include, but are not limited to:Ensure proper load of carriers by monitoring the cube and weight of trailers.Provide leadership and accountability to a team of switchers.Directing the flow of internal and external customer freight as it comes into the yard.Communicating and assigning trailer moves throughout the terminal.Oversee the placement and movement of tractor trailers within the lot while tracking and recovering inventory.Maintain a safe work environment compliant with state and federal DOT/ OSHA standards.Ensure company operational model compliance.Support a culture of excellence in quality of product to internal and external customers.
