Key Responsibilities Conduct thorough initial assessments to create tailored treatment plans that address each child’s unique mental health needs. Utilize a client-centered counseling approach to effectively support children facing anxiety, depression, trauma, and other psychological challenges. Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions, employing active listening and empathy to build strong therapeutic relationships. Monitor client progress regularly, adapting strategies to promote resilience and sustainable emotional well-being. Collaborate closely with parents and guardians, offering guidance and resources to ensure continuity of care and support at home. Maintain accurate, confidential client records in compliance with HIPAA and ethical counseling standards. Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices and emerging trends in child mental health counseling. What We're Looking For Required: A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Psychology, Counseling, or a related field. Minimum of 2 years’ experience providing mental health counseling to children and families. Strong skills in empathy, active listening, client-centered counseling, problem-solving, and communication. Preferred: Certifications in mental health counseling or child therapy (e.g., LPC, LMHC, or equivalent). Experience with counseling software and digital tools for client management.
