One challenge I faced while coordinating deliveries was when a driver was running late to a time-sensitive appointment because of traffic and a delay at their previous stop. At the same time, the receiver was expecting the truck within a strict window, and there was a risk of the delivery being rejected or rescheduled. To solve it, I immediately contacted the driver to get an accurate ETA and understand the exact cause of the delay. Then, I reached out to the receiver to communicate proactively, explain the situation professionally, and ask whether there was a flexibility with the appointment time at all. While doing that, I kept checking for updates from the driver so I could provide real-time communication. Because I stayed calm, communicated clearly, and kept both sides informed, we were able to avoid a failed delivery. The receiver allowed a later arrival, the driver completed the delivery successfully, and we kept the customer relationship intact.
