Job description
Our client is seeking a Manager of Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting to join its corporate finance team. This position is responsible for overseeing external financial reporting, researching complex accounting matters, and supporting the accounting implications of strategic business initiatives.The successful candidate will work closely with finance leadership and cross-functional partners to ensure the company's financial reporting remains accurate, compliant, and responsive to an evolving business. This role offers broad exposure to technical accounting, corporate transactions, financial consolidations, and process improvement initiatives within a dynamic public company environment.
Primary ResponsibilitiesOversee the preparation of quarterly and annual financial filings, ensuring compliance with SEC regulations and U.S. GAAP.Research emerging accounting guidance and evaluate the impact of new accounting standards on the organization.Provide accounting support for strategic transactions, including acquisitions, divestitures, financing activities, and new business initiatives.Collaborate with teams across finance, legal, tax, treasury, investor relations, and business operations to resolve complex accounting and reporting matters.Coordinate the external reporting process, managing deadlines, review cycles, and communication with internal stakeholders and external auditors.Assist with the monthly financial close and corporate consolidation process, including journal entries and general ledger activities.Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to streamline reporting processes and strengthen internal controls.Prepare technical accounting analyses and documentation for significant or non-routine transactions.Participate in special projects that support the finance organization's strategic objectives
.QualificatioBachelor's degree in Accounting or FinanceCPA certification preferredFive or more years of progressive accounting experience within public accounting and/or a publicly traded companyStrong technical accounting knowledge with experience interpreting and applying U.S. GAABackground in SEC reporting, including preparation or review of Forms 10-Q, 10-K, and related disclosuresExperience working with financial reporting platforms and consolidation systems such as Workiva, HFM, or similar applications is preferredAdvanced Microsoft Excel skillsStrong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilitiesExcellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple departments and levels of leadership
