Job description

Recreation Therapist

As a Recreation Therapist, you will support Residential Treatment Facility youth recreation needs during intake and treatment. You will report to the Residential Treatment Facility Clinical Supervisor and will work onsite with some community based work required.

Responsibilities

Conduct therapeutic recreational assessments of residents to support the preparation and implementation of treatment plans (14-day and monthly Treatment Reviews). Consult with RTF team members regarding recreation activity planning, design, implementation, and evaluationOrganize, facilitate, and support therapeutic recreational activities for individual clients and for groupsMaintain contact with community recreational resources to support recreational needs and activitiesMaintain RTF recreational facilities and supplies; schedule useEnsure that therapeutic recreational services comply with COA, IOC, and OMH standardsComplete all documentation requirements, including Rec Assessments; Individual/Group Progress Notes; Permission Packets.Maintain the family/guardian’s connection and involvement with the child during the RTF stay. Supporting use of recreation in their community and home settings. Involve the family in every aspect of the treatment and discharge process. Coordinate with RTF treatment staff regarding the family’s progress, the youth’s treatment plan and the planning for therapeutic home visits

Schedule

Monday - Friday, 10am to 6pm

Requirements And Education

Bachelor's Degree in Recreation, Counseling, Outdoor Education or related fieldHave CTRS licensure or eligible to obtain2 or more years of related experienceMust pass the required physical.Must be able to complete TCI training.
