Job description

About the RoleAvon Food Company is seeking a detail-oriented Supply Chain & Materials Planner to support production, purchasing, inventory control, and customer order fulfillment. This role helps ensure ingredients, packaging, and production materials are available on time and in the correct quantities to support scheduled production.
Key Responsibilities• Review upcoming production schedules, determine material requirements, and confirm availability before production begins.• Place and follow up on purchase orders for ingredients, packaging, and production-related materials.• Track supplier confirmations, lead times, delivery dates, inbound shipments, and critical material needs.• Monitor inventory levels, safety stock, cycle count accuracy, FIFO/FEFO rotation, and aging or slow-moving inventory.• Coordinate with Production, Warehouse, Customer Service, Sales, and Quality Assurance regarding shortages, delays, availability, and schedule changes.• Verify required supplier documentation, including COAs, specifications, allergen information, and related food safety documents.• Track material shortages, supplier issues, purchasing activity, and inventory trends; prepare reports and recommend process improvements as needed.
Qualifications• Experience in supply chain, purchasing, materials planning, logistics, inventory control, or a related role preferred.• Food manufacturing, production, or warehouse experience is a plus.• Strong communication, organization, follow-up, problem-solving, and attention to detail.• Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond quickly to schedule changes or urgent material needs.• Proficiency with email, Microsoft Excel, ERP systems, inventory systems, or similar business software.• Knowledge of FIFO/FEFO, COAs, food safety documentation, and supplier compliance is a plus. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
Work EnvironmentThis position works in both an office and food manufacturing environment. The employee may enter production, warehouse, and receiving areas and must follow all company GMP, food safety, PPE, and safety procedures.
