Job description
About the role
ESPO Corporation is hiring an Area Controller – Plant to oversee financial reporting, budgeting, cost accounting, and internal controls across three manufacturing sites. The role supports operational efficiency and strategic decision-making and reports to the Sr Area Controller. Staff are located across multiple manufacturing locations.
Locations: Franklin Park, IL or Charlotte, NC (South End Area). Direct hire/permanent position.
Responsibilities
- Oversee financial operations, including accounting, budgeting and forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Ensure accurate and timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial close processes.
- Perform and document monthly review and reconciliation of the balance sheet.
- Evaluate system-driven reports for financial accuracy across plant processes.
- Prepare and present financial reports and analysis to leadership.
- Analyze business trends and guide operational leads in efforts to improve financial results.
- Lead monthly and quarterly forecasts and annual budgets with operations and sales resources; document variances and provide analysis.
Requirements
- At least five years of manufacturing experience, including plant accounting and financial closing.
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Multi-site experience.
- Excellent computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office products, D365, IQMS, and Onestream.
- MBA and/or CMA/CPA designation preferred.
