Senior Controller

We are sourcing for our client - a Columbus, Ohio-based advisory and consulting firm that services financial institutions and insurance companies. They are owned by a boutique, private equity firm that pursues investment opportunities in lower-middle-market companies. Our client is seeking an exceptional senior-level professional to join their team for their consulting company which employs over 500 employees. The opportunity could evolve to play a significant role in helping to identify and evaluate firm acquisitions, and lead the financial aspects for all of the portfolio companies.

Primary responsibilities will be managing and directing the company’s financial affairs to include financial strategy, financial planning and analysis, financial reporting, company audits, compliance, cost accounting and business planning. Role will collaborate with the President and the executive team to make decisions regarding company's financial strategy and operations.
General responsibilities include:Manage daily accounting function for a portfolio of client startup companiesManage the general ledger, accounts payable, billing and accounts receivable on an accrual-basis, in accordance with GAAPOversee cash flow, cash management, working capital and company auditsProvide cost accounting, when requiredPreparation of monthly bank and balance sheet reconciliationsPreparation of financial statements and reports for Partner reviewPreparation of any required debt amortization schedules, or depreciation schedulesPayroll processingExercise independent judgment over accounts payable process, including determining available cash to pay bills and process payments to vendorsProvide financial analysis, as neededEnsure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filingsCoordination of the preparation of required tax returnsThe duties and responsibilities described in this job description may not be a comprehensive list.
