Job description
Qinisani Mathenjwa is hiring a full-time Artist Manager in Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa. In this on-site role, you will guide and develop artists’ careers, create opportunities for growth and exposure, and help them navigate the music industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute marketing strategies for artists and their music using digital marketing and social media.
- Build and maintain relationships with record labels, promoters, media professionals, and other industry contacts.
- Negotiate contracts and manage business matters while representing artists’ best interests.
- Coordinate live performance bookings, logistics, and promotion to increase audience engagement.
- Track music industry trends and advise on artists’ branding and musical direction.
- Maintain communication between artists and stakeholders to align goals and expectations.
- Assess audience growth, engagement, and financial performance to guide strategic decisions.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Business Management or a related field.
- Skills in artist management, music industry knowledge, digital marketing, networking, and social media management.
- Experience managing artists or working in a similar role is preferred.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency with relevant music industry software and tools.
