role overview

• Perform non-research molecular testing of samples potentially containing biological threat agents.
• Process incoming operational, quality assurance, and other sample types while maintaining chain of custody.
• Prepare reports, answer questions, troubleshoot, and make recommendations to the supervisor for inclusion in comprehensive reports.
• Maintain and operate equipment properly and safely, including performing routine calibrations and adjustments.
• Perform all procedures in accordance with proper handling and storage of various materials.
• Maintain knowledge and skills related to the position and program.

work environment

• Laboratory operations run seven days a week.
• Team members rotate weekends and holidays to ensure daily reporting of results.
• During public health emergencies, extended work hours and alternative shifts may be required to support temporary 24/7 emergency operations.
