About the role
A-TEK, Inc. seeks an Associate Scientist I to perform non-research molecular testing of samples potentially containing biological threat agents. The role supports federal client operations through scientific services.
Responsibilities
- Process incoming operational, quality assurance, and other sample types while maintaining chain of custody.
- Prepare reports, answer questions, troubleshoot, and make recommendations to the supervisor for inclusion in comprehensive reports.
- Maintain and operate equipment properly and safely, including routine calibrations and adjustments.
- Follow procedures for proper handling and storage of various materials.
- Maintain knowledge and skills related to the position and program.

- A pre-employment drug screening is required.
- Laboratory operations run seven days a week. Team members rotate weekends and holidays to ensure daily reporting of results.
- During public health emergencies, extended work hours and alternative shifts may be required to support temporary 24/7 emergency operations.
