Bookkeeper

About the role

Join our family-owned fire protection company and support its mission of making lives and property safer. The role includes bookkeeping and project assistance.

Responsibilities

• Accounts receivable: Enter and update the Looks Online platform, and follow up with clients regarding billing approvals and collections.
• Accounts payable: Match proof of deliveries for materials, equipment, and supplies; enter data into QuickBooks Online; and set up bills and payables.
• Project assistance: Follow up on invoices for approval of change order work, and research and collect records for project management programs.
• QuickBooks assistance: Track insurance certificates and communicate about them. Maintain updated accounts, including organized tax documents and bank deposits.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of experience in construction bookkeeping required.
• Experience with QuickBooks Online and AIA billing.
• Familiarity with project management, project and budget tracking, and management.
• Construction knowledge preferred.
• Basic understanding of double-entry bookkeeping, debits and credits, journal entries, and account reconciliation processes.
• Familiarity with accounts receivable and payable management and budget tracking.
• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and accuracy, and communication skills to facilitate organization of project information with new and existing clients.
