Job Overview
A law firm seeks a lateral Business Litigation Associate for its Houston, Texas office. This growth-oriented role offers advancement opportunities within a collaborative practice. The ideal candidate will possess 3-5 years of experience in drafting and arguing motions, taking depositions, and managing discovery, with strong academic credentials and complex legal writing skills.
DutiesDraft and argue motions, pleadings, and other legal documents.Conduct legal research, review documents, and manage discovery processes.Take and defend depositions in business and real estate litigation matters.Communicate complex legal concepts clearly to clients and colleagues.
Requirements3-5 years of experience in business litigation.Proven experience in drafting and arguing motions and taking depositions.Strong academic credentials and proficiency in complex legal drafting.Experience in real estate litigation is preferred but not required.Prior experience or exposure to eminent domain matters is desired.
EducationJuris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
CertificationsActive license to practice law in Texas.
