Business Manager/Bookkeeper

About the role

We are a locally owned and operated small business with a 26-year history of serving the Boerne community and surrounding areas.

Tasks

• Maintain accurate, current, and separate financial records for both companies, including proper transaction categorization, account reconciliations, payroll entries, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and timely financial reporting.
• Closely monitor expenses, verify invoices and charges, identify unnecessary spending, and enforce owner-approved budgets and purchasing procedures.
• Work directly with the owner to review cash flow, anticipate upcoming financial obligations, recommend cost-saving opportunities, and support the financial stability and long-term profitability of both companies.
• Question questionable expenses, flag financial concerns promptly, and follow through on corrective action.
• As a secondary responsibility, assist the owner with planning, coordinating, and executing social media activities, marketing initiatives, and advertising campaigns.
• Coordinate with outside marketing providers, designers, and advertising representatives as needed.
• Help manage campaign schedules, track marketing expenses against owner-approved budgets, and review results with the owner to identify opportunities to improve effectiveness and return on advertising spending.

Requirements

• Must be highly proficient in QuickBooks, with extensive hands-on experience and a strong command of sound bookkeeping practices.

Schedule

• Our business operates Monday through Thursday 7:00am to 6:00pm and Friday from 7:00am to 12:00pm (noon)
