- Develop and validate finite element models for crashworthiness, occupant safety, and battery intrusion analysis.
- Support battery safety assessments, including mechanical integrity, deformation, and failure prediction under impact loading.
- Conduct frontal, side, rear, and pole impact simulations and correlate results with physical test data.
- Collaborate with design, safety, battery, and test teams to optimize structures for crash performance.
- Document simulation results, provide design recommendations, and support program milestones.
Requirements
- 2–5 years of experience in CAE crash and impact simulation.
- Proficiency in LS-DYNA and pre/post-processing tools (e.g., HyperMesh, ANSA, Oasys).
- Experience with battery safety, structural crash, or impact simulations.
- Strong understanding of crashworthiness principles, material modeling, and failure criteria.
- Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
- Preferred: Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- Preferred: Experience with battery pack or EV crash safety.
- Preferred: Familiarity with regulatory and consumer crash test protocols (FMVSS, Euro NCAP, etc.).
- Preferred: Knowledge of optimization tools and scripting (Python, TCL, etc.).
