Job description
Mercor is seeking a meticulous, detail-oriented Cargo and Freight Agent for a contract role based in American Fork, Utah. This remote-eligible position supports cargo transportation and distribution across multiple markets. You will help coordinate accurate, compliant shipments and keep clients and stakeholders informed throughout the shipping process.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate cargo shipping and receiving while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.
- Prepare bills of lading, invoices, customs paperwork, and other shipping documents.
- Track cargo movements and communicate shipment status, delays, and updates to clients and stakeholders.
- Resolve logistics issues and complaints with timely, effective support.
- Work with transportation providers and warehouses to improve shipping routes and costs.
- Maintain accurate shipment records and enter data into logistics software.
- Review shipping methods and recommend efficiency improvements.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
- Associate degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
- Two to four years of experience in logistics or freight forwarding, ideally in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of shipping regulations and compliance standards.
- Proficiency with logistics software and tools.
- Excellent organization, multitasking, and written and verbal communication skills.
- Logistics or supply chain management certifications are preferred.
