Job description

Explore St. Louis is seeking a visionary, strategic, and highly experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead our financial operations and ensure fiscal integrity. Reporting directly to the President/CEO, the CFO will direct the Finance Department and oversee all financial activities, including Risk Management, IT, and Ticket Operations. As a key executive team member, the CFO will shape strategic planning and promote excellence in financial management. Essential Duties Financial Responsibilities: Provide strategic financial leadership to the CEO and Board of Commissioners, delivering forward-looking insights to guide organizational strategy, capital planning, and sustainability. Lead the annual planning and budgeting process, ensuring alignment with the Strategic Plan and organizational goals. Present budgets for Board approval and liaise with government agencies as required. Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard assets and uphold operational integrity. Oversee financial analysis to monitor trends, performance, and stewardship of resources. Develop advanced financial models and scenario planning to support agile decision-making. Manage perpetual forecasting with regular updates to optimize resource management. Coordinate financial strategies related to major capital assets, including funding models, public-private partnerships, and long-term asset optimization. Additional Responsibilities: Maintain administration authority over Risk Management, IT, and Ticket Operations to ensure integrated financial oversight. Collaborate with executive leadership to drive organizational growth and financial health. Foster a culture of financial excellence and accountability throughout the organization.
