Job description
About the role
The Community Outreach Organizer engages community sectors and public representatives in construction and modernization projects, as well as programs and initiatives of the Facilities Services Division.
Responsibilities
- Identify, contact, and work with community sectors, school administrators, offices of elected officials, the Board of Education, legislators, Local District Superintendents, and regulatory agencies.
- Notify community members of meetings and events related to projects, programs, and initiatives.
- Implement community outreach strategic plans for assigned projects.
- Receive community inquiries, gather information from appropriate District personnel, and track responses.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from a recognized college or university in public relations, community relations, urban planning, business administration, public administration, or a related field.
- Two years of experience in a public or private agency performing community outreach activities to obtain diverse community support for community improvement projects, preferably including organizing outreach campaigns or fieldwork for community-based organizations.
