Job description
Longhorn Energy & Transportation is hiring a full-time Diesel/Heavy Equipment Mechanic in Williston, North Dakota. In this hands-on role, you will help keep heavy machinery reliable for operations supporting construction and transportation. Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and troubleshoot diesel engines and heavy equipment.
- Perform equipment repairs and preventive maintenance in the shop and on-site.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair hydraulic systems.
- Inspect and maintain electrical systems and components.
- Document service, inspections, and repairs accurately.
- Work with teammates and management to resolve complex repairs and improve workflow.
- Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow applicable safety procedures.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; diesel mechanic technical certifications are a plus.
- Experience diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines and heavy equipment; 3–5 years preferred.
- Strong hydraulic and electrical troubleshooting and repair skills.
- Familiarity with industry-standard mechanic tools and equipment.
- Diesel mechanic or related certification preferred.
