ELA Curriculum Specialist - Mideast Michigan

Job DescriptionSummary:Join National Heritage Academies (NHA) as an ELA Curriculum Specialist. The ELA Curriculum Specialist will report directly to the ELA Curriculum Manager and will be responsible for supporting curricular needs relating to programs, resources and documents in our Mideast Michigan schools.

Duties and Responsibilities:Create and facilitate professional development for teachers and leaders on topics such as instructional strategies, data response, and curricular tool implementationDevelop and revise lesson plans, assessments, and/or other instructional routines and frameworks for K-12 ELA teachersCollaborate with school leadership to enhance teacher quality through direct coaching at schools around effective instruction, data analysis, and assessment administrationResearch and promote best practices in assigned content areasModel effective literacy instructionAdditional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in Education is required, Master’s Degree in preferredA minimum of 3-5 years of English Language Arts teaching experience preferredExperience writing and presenting professional developmentThorough understanding of ELA state standardsAbility to work independentlyAbility to complete multiple tasks simultaneouslyExcellent communication skills are essential, both written and verbalAbility to use technology for collaborationAbility to function within general assignment of responsibilitiesAbility to travel as required (up to 50% depending on location)
