About the role

Michels Corporation is hiring an Electrical Estimator – Industrial & Medium Voltage for its Construction Electrical Division in Milwaukee, WI. This full-time role evaluates bid specifications and drawings to ensure project requirements are understood and accounted for. The estimator works with subcontractors and Project Management teams to develop competitive bids, track budgets, and support project award and turnover.

Michels Power, Inc. delivers electrical infrastructure for data centers, hydroelectric facilities, power generation, and Oil & Gas operations. Its Construction Electrical Division specializes in heavy industrial electrical, medium-voltage systems, and mission-critical infrastructure projects across energy and industrial markets.

Responsibilities

• Promote and maintain a strong safety culture and comply with safety and environmental policies and regulations.
• Review bid specifications and drawings for projects ranging approximately from $500K to $10M, ensuring full scope coverage.
• Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for industrial electrical and medium-voltage systems.
• Partner with Procurement to secure vendor and supplier pricing.
• Identify, manage, and maintain relationships with subcontractors, ensuring timely and complete bid coverage.
• Develop project schedules and cost forecasts to support estimating accuracy.
• Track and analyze budget-to-actual comparisons throughout the bid lifecycle.
• Collaborate with Project Management to follow up on bids and budgets.
