Fiber Optic & Structured Cabling Technician in Glens Falls, NY

We are seeking a skilled Fiber Optic & Structured Cabling Technician to join our team in Glens Falls, New York. As a full-time member of our growing company, you will play a vital role in deploying and maintaining critical wiring infrastructure that supports our clients' communication systems. Key Responsibilities

• Install, terminate, and test fiber optic and structured cabling systems following industry standards and local regulations.
• Perform splicing and OTDR testing to ensure optimal communication line performance and reliability.
• Conduct troubleshooting and maintenance activities to resolve issues efficiently.
• Document all installations, maintenance, and testing results for compliance and quality assurance.
• Collaborate with project managers and technicians to deliver projects on time and within budget.
• Assist in designing and laying out network cabling systems to meet client specifications.
• Participate in site surveys and audits to determine cabling needs for new projects.

Required and Preferred Qualifications

• Technical Certification in Fiber Optics or Structured Cabling is required.
• Proven experience with fiber optics, structured cabling, low voltage systems, and related tools.
• Strong skills in splicing, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation.
• Experience using common testing equipment such as OTDRs and patch panels.
• 2-5 years of telecommunications field experience preferred.

You will report directly to the Technical Supervisor and collaborate closely with field technicians, project managers, and support staff to ensure seamless project delivery.
