Job description

Haggie Steel Wire Rope is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Foreman to join our team.

To lead and manage the safe, efficient, and cost-effective manufacture of steel wire by ensuring production, quality, delivery, housekeeping, and safety objectives are achieved.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Lead and co-ordinate daily production activities to achieve output and delivery targets.
• Monitor production performance and implement corrective actions where requirements.
• Ensure production readiness through effective planning of feedstock, tooling, job cards, and consumables.
• Drive product quality and ensure compliance with customer specifications and company standards.
• Investigate production, quality, and safety incidents and implement sustainable corrective actions.
• Promote and enforce safety, health, environmental, and housekeeping standards.
• Lead, coach, develop, and manage employee performance.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and disciplinary requirements.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in productivity, quality, and cost performance.
• Liaise effectively with Production, Engineering, Quality, Planning, and Stores departments.

QUALIFICATION REQUIRED
• Grade 12/ Matric.
• Diploma in Production Management, Manufacturing Management, Operations Management, Engineering, Metallurgy, or a related field.

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED
• Minimum 3–5 years’ supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Steel industry experience is essential.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Sound technical knowledge with the ability to investigate product failures and operational incidents.
• Computer literacy in Microsoft Office applications.
