Founding Engineer (AI Agents)

We're a seed-stage AI agents startup in San Francisco. Our agents run customer activation for enterprise merchants and are already live across tens of thousands of merchants and customers. We were chosen over well-known competitors in a head-to-head evaluation, and two engineers built and run all of it. We're hiring a Founding Engineer to own enterprise AI agent deployments end to end, from the integration to the customer relationship.
Location: San Francisco, CA. Hybrid, Mon/Wed/Fri in office (SoMa). Full-time.Compensation: $250,000 to $275,000 base + 1 to 1.5% equity
What you'll do:Fix bugs and ship platform extensions in your first 30 days, own a product area by 60, and own an enterprise account by 90Build and tune agent behavior (harnesses, tool use, evals) across text, email, voice and browserWork directly with customer champions on the weekly "can it do X" requestsTake new enterprise pilots from kickoff to first value to signed contractShape the product, engineering culture and future hiring with our CTO
What you bring:4 to 8 years as a product or full-stack engineerYou've shipped LLM-backed products that real users depend onYou've worked directly with customers and turned their asks into shipped featuresStartup experience, seed through Series DTypeScript, Python, Postgres/SupabaseYou use AI coding tools every dayYou can start by mid-November and be in SF 3 days a week (relocation support available)
Nice to have: a background in voice/agent CX or payments, or experience with Twilio, ElevenLabs or similar voice infra.
