Job description
PAULINA MANDUJANO CANO DE LOS RIOS is seeking a Freelance PLC Controls Engineer in Portland, Maine. In this project-based role, you will develop and support automated control systems across multiple projects. Work independently in a flexible environment while collaborating with engineering teams to deliver reliable solutions and improve system performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement PLC programs for automated systems across multiple projects.
- Test, troubleshoot, and debug control systems to resolve technical issues.
- Collaborate with engineering teams on control strategies that meet project specifications.
- Prepare programming documentation and operational manuals.
- Follow relevant industry standards and automation engineering best practices.
- Participate in project meetings and provide progress updates and technical insights.

Required and Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; Electrical or Automation Engineering is preferred.
- At least 3–5 years of engineering experience, including hands-on PLC programming.
- Experience with PLC platforms such as Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Mitsubishi, or Hitachi.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines.
- English speaking, writing, and comprehension skills at B1 level or higher.
- Automation or related industry certifications are highly desirable.
