Job OverviewA law firm seeks an Associate Attorney specializing in General Liability for its New York, NY office. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of defense litigation experience and be licensed to practice in New York courts. Additional state admissions, such as New Jersey, are preferred.DutiesHandle a caseload involving substantial litigation defense.Draft, prepare, and manage pleadings, motions, and legal memoranda.Conduct legal research and prepare depositions of parties and experts.Review client documents and draft case evaluations and status reports.Participate in mediations and court appearances.Interact with clients, claim professionals, and opposing counsel.RequirementsMinimum of five years of defense litigation experience.Licensed to practice in New York courts.Additional state admissions preferred.EducationJuris Doctor (JD) degree.CertificationsBar admission in New York.SkillsStrong legal research and analytical skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Proficiency with MS Office, including Excel and Outlook.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Knowledge of state and federal court procedures.BenefitsCompetitive compensation plan.Excellent benefits package.Opportunities for professional development.
