Job description
About the role
OceanGrown is seeking a General Worker (Stores) for the Mussels & Oysters department in Saldanha. The role reports to the Stores Manager.
Responsibilities
- Cut and splice rope.
- Prepare buoys, rope, and mussel sock to go to sea.
- Pack and store floats and ropes in the storage yard.
- Maintain an organized and clean storage area.
- Assist with boat and maintenance operations.
- Conduct beach cleanups and retrieve lost infrastructure.
- Assist with other general tasks as required.
Requirements
- Ability and willingness to lift and move a weight of approximately 15kg.
- Ability and willingness to perform regular activities of bending, stooping, and lifting.
- Previous experience working in stores would be advantageous.
- Senior Certificate (Grade 12).
- Clean criminal record.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to multi-task, adaptability, and willingness to learn quickly.
- Team player, highly dependable, and able to work under pressure.
- Time management, good personal hygiene practices, and trustworthiness.
- Pre-Sea would be advantageous.
