Junior Electrical Engineer (EIT)

About the role

Join an MEP team supporting commercial, educational, municipal, healthcare and institutional building projects.

Work alongside licensed Professional Engineers while developing your technical expertise and progressing toward P.E. licensure.

Tasks

• Support the design of power distribution, lighting, grounding, fire alarm and low-voltage systems.
• Prepare electrical plans, load calculations, panel schedules and specifications.
• Use AutoCAD and Revit to develop and update construction documents.
• Assist with code research, cost estimates and design alternatives.
• Coordinate electrical designs with mechanical, plumbing, structural and architectural teams.
• Review shop drawings, submittals and RFIs.
• Participate in site visits, field investigations and construction observations.
• Support project schedules, documentation and quality reviews.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited four-year university.
• EIT certification required, or ability to obtain it within six months of hire.
• Preferably 2–3 years of electrical engineering experience, with exposure to MEP consulting or building systems.
• Basic familiarity with AutoCAD and Revit.
• Strong electrical engineering fundamentals, analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Preferred: NEC knowledge; experience with SKM, ETAP, Visual Lighting or similar software; familiarity with energy codes and sustainable design.
• Visa sponsorship is not available.
