Job description
Seeds of Life Montessori Academy is hiring a part-time Junior Elementary Assistant in Sarasota, Florida. Join a collaborative school team and help elementary students learn, grow, and feel supported in a nurturing Montessori environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist classroom teachers with daily instruction and learning activities.
- Support students during small-group discussions and one-on-one learning sessions.
- Help maintain an organized, positive classroom environment.
- Supervise students during breaks and transitions.
- Prepare educational materials and student snacks.
- Encourage students’ social and emotional well-being.
- Communicate student progress and challenges to teachers.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience working with children preferred, especially in an educational setting.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting young learners.
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
Work Environment and Reporting
Work closely with lead teachers and fellow assistants to support a consistent, nurturing classroom experience. This position reports to the lead teacher.
