Job Description.
This position is responsible for ensuring the kitchen runs smoothly and that all staff, volunteers, user groups adhere to Public Health Standards. Including food prep, cooking, maintaining a fully stocked kitchen inventory, scheduling kitchen workers and volunteer’s cleanliness of the kitchen and related facilities and equipment.
Qualifications:
• WHMIS 2015 Required
• First Aid & CPR / AED Required
• Food Handlers Course Required
• Management experience and asset
• Ability to work independently and efficiently, managing time effectively to complete tasks within designed timeframes.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards.
• Physical stamina and ability to perform daily and weekly cleaning tasks that may involve lifting, bending, standing for extended periods of standing.
• Excellent communication skills and positive attitude when interacting with volunteers, user groups and visitors.
Roles and Responsibilities
• Required to maintain a fully stocked kitchen with appropriate supplies necessary for the kitchen to run by the week.
• Ensuring that all food items and products are stored, prepared and served based on preparation standards.
• In charge of ordering and scheduling deliveries as well as receiving deliveries for food vendors.
• Maintaining adequate inventory levels and conducting weekly inventory.
• Supervising food preparation in the kitchen and ensuring that customers are satisfied.
• Scheduling kitchen workers (Volunteers and user groups).
• Overseeing the training of kitchen workers to ensure the safe operation of kitchen equipment and utensils and proper handling of items.
• Responsible for checking the flat map Draft from the Town Office and making sure it is returned the next day.
• Maintaining a clean working environment and making sure that volunteers/user groups follow the kitchen procedures.
• Conducting a thorough deep clean once a week of kitchen (floors washed, clean out deep fryers, change oil, etc).
