Lead/Senior Automation Engineer

About the role

The candidate will lead onsite QA activities, coordinate offshore QA teams, troubleshoot complex defects, and ensure quality delivery.

Tasks

• Lead onsite QA activities and provide technical guidance to offshore QA resources.
• Design and execute manual and automated tests for functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end scenarios.
• Communicate test status, risks, defects, and quality concerns to stakeholders.
• Perform backend validation using databases, SQL queries, logs, APIs, and monitoring tools.
• Develop and maintain API test cases and collections using Postman.
• Conduct defect investigation, debugging, and root-cause analysis.
• Review test documentation, evidence, defect reports, and release-readiness deliverables.
• Mentor offshore QA teams and improve test coverage, automation practices, and QA processes.

Requirements

• 5+ years of QA experience in manual and automation testing.
• Experience leading or coordinating offshore QA teams.
• 4+ years of backend testing, including SQL, database validation, logs, and troubleshooting.
• 4+ years of hands-on Postman experience in API testing.
• Experience with JIRA and OpenText ALM Octane.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills for reporting and stakeholder presentations.
• Strong communication, documentation, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Preferred: Selenium, Java, Python, REST Assured, or similar automation frameworks.
• Agile/Scrum, CI/CD pipelines, Git, and release management.
• Testing microservices, event-driven applications, or cloud platforms.
