Mathematical Computing Expert | $30/hr Remote

About the role

Crossing Hurdles is seeking a scientific coding expert in mathematics for a contractor assignment. The commitment is 40 hours per week, with at least 4 hours of overlap during PST business hours.

Responsibilities

• Create rigorous scientific problem specifications with one main problem and at least 3 logically connected sub-problems.
• Develop and implement verified Python golden solutions with complete unit test coverage.
• Design discriminative test cases that distinguish correct and incorrect AI model outputs.
• Validate tasks for scientific correctness, well-posedness, determinism, clear constraints, and expected outputs.

Requirements

• Master's or PhD in Mathematics, strong Python programming skills, and experience in scientific computing.
• Ability to write rigorous, well-posed mathematical problems with clear constraints, assumptions, and expected outputs.
• Experience with scientific Python libraries such as NumPy, SciPy, SymPy, or similar mathematical or scientific computing tools.
• Prior experience in research, scientific writing, AI data annotation, LLM evaluation, coding benchmarks, or academic STEM projects is preferred.
• Google Scholar profile or link is mandatory.
