Job description
Tasks
- Provide prompt technical assistance to healthcare providers, local health departments, and the public, coordinating diagnostic testing and surveillance for measles and related public health topics.
- Conduct surveillance using the state electronic disease surveillance system (NBS) and syndromic surveillance system (ESSENCE), and assist with investigations of cases and outbreaks.
- Develop educational materials and support surge capacity for data entry of reports and laboratory results.
- Serve as a backup to staff and, when required, act as the epidemiologist on call during non‐business hours for a few weeks each year.
