Job description
Sharne De Jongh is seeking a full-time Mechanical Fitter in Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa. Key Responsibilities
- Inspect, maintain, and repair mechanical systems and equipment.
- Install and align machinery using precision measuring instruments and industrial tools.
- Work with engineering and production teams to diagnose and resolve mechanical issues.
- Document maintenance and repair work in line with applicable industry standards.
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on plant machinery.
- Follow workshop and equipment safety procedures during all fitting work.
- Contribute mechanical expertise to new installations, upgrades, and other projects.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Trade test certification in Mechanical Fitting.
- At least three years of experience in a similar mechanical fitting or maintenance role.
- Proficiency with tools and equipment used in industrial mechanical fitting.
- Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems is an advantage.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
