Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Office Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical office administration, including experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems and medical billing. This role requires excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as proficiency in various software applications. The Office Specialist will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our office by providing administrative support, managing patient interactions, and maintaining accurate records.
Responsibilities
• Conduct insurance verification monthly.
• Review documentation for completeness and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Assist with medical coding using ICD-10 and CPT code for a home health agency
• Provide clerical support including filing, and maintaining medical records in accordance with health information management practices.
• Handle multi-line phone systems with professionalism, addressing patient inquiries and directing calls as necessary.
• Collaborate with therapy providers to assist in verifying approved dates and current caseloads.
• Maintain a clean and organized front desk area while ensuring confidentiality of patient information.
Skills
• Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Word.
• Understanding of medical terminology, insurance processes, and Medicaid guidelines.
• Computer skills is a must.
• Bilingual candidates are highly desirable to enhance patient communication.
• Previous experience in a home health office setting preferred but not required.
• Able to answer phone and communicate with languages, transcripts and partners.
• Ability to work independently while also being an effective team player in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to use and navigate through Gmail and Google Drive is a must.
• Knowledge of submitting claims through TMHP for Medicaid patients. Training available.
