Mental Health Monitor Sitter

About the role

The Mental Health Monitor/Sitter provides continuous observation of patients on suicide watch, in therapeutic restraints, or otherwise identified as a risk, including in clinical settings with documented care plans. The role involves patient engagement, supporting the unit, documentation, and following instructions from the medical personnel responsible for the unit. This position is critical to maintaining patient safety and supporting mental healthcare services.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuous observation of patients on suicide watch, in therapeutic restraints, or otherwise identified as a risk.
• Monitor patients through in-person observation as appropriate.
• Document observations accurately and promptly, and follow unit protocols.
• Assist medical personnel as required.
• Report safety concerns or incidents immediately.
• Follow all instructions from the medical personnel responsible for the unit.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Experience monitoring multiple screens.
• Minimum of six months of medical or mental health experience, or training.
• Strong documentation skills.
• Experience in a medical setting.
