Microsoft Fabric Data Engineer/SME

About the role

This role combines new Microsoft Fabric development with the modernization of selected workloads from Azure Synapse Analytics to Microsoft Fabric.

The role will support business intelligence and data science use cases.

Tasks

• Lead hands-on data engineering activities within Microsoft Fabric, including pipeline development, notebooks, OneLake implementation, and medallion architecture.
• Design and implement end-to-end data ingestion, transformation, and data modeling solutions using SQL, Python, ETL/ELT, and Azure Data Factory.
• Support the migration and modernization of selected Azure Synapse workloads into Microsoft Fabric while helping develop new Fabric-based solutions.
• Build and prepare curated datasets for Power BI reporting, business intelligence, visualization, and data science applications.
• Apply enterprise architecture standards and reference models to deliver secure, compliant, and production-ready data solutions.
• Collaborate with enterprise architects, IT engineering teams, data scientists, and business stakeholders to align technical solutions with project objectives.
• Support data preparation and feature engineering activities for machine learning initiatives, partnering with data scientists responsible for model development.
• Work within an Agile delivery environment, participate in sprint planning, track progress, and communicate delivery status.
