Nutrition Coordinator

About the role

Earlylearning is seeking a reliable, organized, and dedicated Childcare Cook to plan, prepare, and serve nutritious meals and snacks for children in its licensed childcare program. The role includes maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming kitchen and contributing to the health and well-being of young children in a positive, inclusive, and child-focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare nutritious, age-appropriate meals and snacks.
• Maintain food safety and sanitation standards, monitor food temperatures, and complete required documentation.
• Safely operate kitchen equipment and ensure proper food storage and rotation.
• Monitor inventory, order supplies within approved budgets, and receive deliveries.
• Minimize food waste and maintain an organized kitchen.

Requirements

• Strong organizational and time-management skills, attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team.
• Previous experience in a childcare, school, healthcare, or commercial kitchen is preferred.
• Knowledge of child nutrition, food allergies, and dietary accommodations is an asset.
• Food Safe Level 1 certification and a Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search are required. Current First Aid/CPR is an asset.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and safely lift up to 25 kg (55 lbs), with frequent bending, lifting, reaching, pushing, and carrying.
