Payroll Manager

Tasks

• Managing multi-state payroll across multiple pay groups and frequencies
• Processing monthly commissions and quarterly commission calculations
• Providing final payroll review and approval
• Overseeing one direct report and ensuring day-to-day payroll operations run smoothly
• Managing payroll tax, wage and hour compliance, and year-end W-2 processing
• Supporting minimal Canadian payroll and coordinating with an EOR vendor covering international employees

Requirements

• 5+ years of progressively responsible payroll experience at a senior level
• Multi-state payroll experience across multiple pay groups and frequencies
• Rippling Payroll preferred; comparable cloud-based HRIS/payroll platforms considered
• Commission payroll processing experience
• Experience leading or supervising payroll staff
• Advanced Google Workspace, especially Sheets
• Canadian payroll and EOR experience a plus
• Candidate must be based in Charlotte for on-site availability.

Schedule

• Immediate interim search
• Covering approximately 6 months starting in November
• Hybrid role (4-5 days on-site)
