Job description
NEXA Staffing Solutions is hiring a Pediatric PACU Registered Nurse in Boston, Massachusetts. This part-time opportunity offers $50 per hour, with per diem and bundle opportunities available.
Position Summary
Provide safe, competent, compassionate post-anesthesia care to pediatric patients recovering from surgical procedures. Monitor recovery and support children and their families in a calm, patient-centered environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor airway, vital signs, level of consciousness, and pain during recovery.
- Assess patients and recognize changes that may require immediate intervention.
- Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and facility protocols.
- Manage post-operative pain, nausea, and other recovery needs.
- Determine readiness for discharge or transfer using facility criteria.
- Communicate with families and receiving care teams.
- Maintain accurate, timely patient documentation.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Promote a safe, calm, and patient-centered care environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
- Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- At least one year of RN work experience.
- Current BLS certification.
- PALS certification required or strongly preferred.
- Pediatric PACU, perioperative, or critical care experience preferred.
- Strong clinical judgment, critical-thinking, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-acuity setting.
- Must meet facility background screening, health screening, and onboarding documentation requirements. Additional vaccination or testing requirements may apply under facility policy.
