Pediatric Pre-Operative Registered Nurse – Boston, MA

NEXA Staffing Solutions is seeking a Pediatric Pre-Operative Registered Nurse for a part-time opportunity in Boston, Massachusetts. The role pays $50 per hour. Per diem and bundle opportunities are available.

Position Summary

Prepare pediatric patients and their families for surgery by providing safe, competent, compassionate pre-operative nursing care.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-operative assessments and monitor patients.
• Verify consent forms, NPO status, procedure details, and required documentation.
• Initiate IV access and administer medications as ordered.
• Provide age-appropriate education and support to patients and families.
• Complete surgical safety checklists and confirm patient readiness for the operating room.
• Coordinate care with surgical, anesthesia, nursing, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Administer and document medications and treatments according to facility policy.
• Recognize changes in patient condition and communicate concerns promptly.
• Maintain accurate patient records and care plans while promoting a safe, patient-centered environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
• Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• At least one year of RN work experience.
• Current CPR/BLS certification.
• Pediatric or pre-operative nursing experience preferred.
• Strong clinical judgment, critical-thinking, and communication skills.
• Ability to stand, walk, push, pull, support, and lift as required for patient care.
• Ability to meet facility background screening, health screening, and onboarding documentation requirements. Additional vaccination or testing requirements may apply under facility policy.

Location and Schedule

Boston, Massachusetts. This is a non-remote, part-time position. Per diem and bundle opportunities are available.
