Performance Engineer

About the role

Experienced Performance Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in Layer 7 application troubleshooting, network performance analysis, and enterprise infrastructure.

Tasks

• Diagnose application and network performance issues using packet captures and protocol analysis.
• Analyze traffic to identify latency, connection failures, retransmissions, packet loss, and application delays.
• Troubleshoot Layer 7 technologies, including HTTP/HTTPS, REST APIs, DNS, TLS/SSL, and authentication workflows.
• Trace end-to-end traffic across campus, data center, internet, and cloud environments.
• Troubleshoot Cisco routing, switching, SD-WAN, and Direct Internet Access (DIA).
• Investigate Azure ExpressRoute and hybrid-cloud connectivity issues.
• Collaborate with application, network, cloud, and infrastructure teams to identify root causes.
• Support critical incidents and prepare root-cause analysis (RCA) reports.
• Establish performance baselines and recommend improvements to service availability.
• Develop troubleshooting guides, standard operating procedures, and technical documentation.

Requirements

• Hands-on Layer 7 application troubleshooting
• Advanced packet capture and protocol analysis using Wireshark, tcpdump, or similar tools
• Strong TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S, TLS/SSL, routing, and switching knowledge
• Experience with Cisco enterprise networks and hybrid-cloud connectivity
• Independent candidates only
