Job description

Blue Chip Talent, in partnership with one of our clients, is seeking a skilled Plant Human Resources Manager. This role is responsible for overseeing all HR functions within a manufacturing facility, partnering closely with plant leadership to support union relations, employee engagement, and operational effectiveness.Job DutiesManage and implement HR policies and systems at a large manufacturing site serving 1,100+ employeesLead union interactions, including grievance resolution, contract negotiations, and ensuring compliance with UAW agreementsSupport plant leadership in organizational design, staffing, and training initiativesOversee employee relations issues, investigations, and disciplinary actions with a hands-on approachFacilitate communication and collaboration across operations, union representatives, and managementDrive continuous improvement activities aligned with production needs and HR best practicesSupport shift operations, including crisis management and off-shift HR needs when necessaryLead and develop a team of HR professionals, including occupational health nurses, HRBPs, and specialists
Skills & ExperienceRequired5+ years leading HR functions within a manufacturing or plant environmentProven experience in union negotiations and UAW-related labor relationsHands-on experience managing employee relations and grievances in a unionized settingStrong understanding of manufacturing operations, employee engagement, and HR complianceBachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related fieldFamiliarity with HRIS/payroll systems
DesiredAutomotive manufacturing background, preferably Tier 1 supplier experienceExperience supporting large hourly workforces (700–1,800 employees)Demonstrated leadership in crisis and change managementAbility to handle escalated employee relations issues confidentlyStrong communication skills with a strategic and operational mindset
