Job description
About the role
Trident Seafoods is North America's largest vertically integrated seafood harvesting and processing company. The Production Supervisor plans, directs, coordinates, and controls production workers' activities and supports production-related issues in the plant for year-round production and seasonal fresh processing.
The role requires working knowledge of HACCP, GFSI, and other safety and quality systems vital to the position.
Responsibilities
- Study production schedules and estimate staffing, duty assignments, and inventory requirements in coordination with the Production Manager.
- Develop process plans covering people, resources, equipment, and floor space.
- Establish or adjust work procedures to meet production schedules.
- Coordinate manpower by increasing or decreasing personnel and overtime to meet changing conditions.
- Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and product quality.
- Initiate or suggest plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
- Maintain time and production records, and perform activities of workers supervised.
- Interpret company policies for workers and enforce safety regulations.
- Respond to grievances and work with subordinates and the Production Manager to discuss and eliminate problems.
