Role Description

The Quality Control Supervisor is responsible for supervising the quality functions and personnel to ensure compliance with customer requirements and company specifications.

Responsibilities

Assist and serve as back-up to the Quality Control Manager as directedInterpret quality specifications and communicate to all applicable departmentsMaintain all pertinent records to adequately monitor quality performance and standards Review customer complaints with plant department to ensure corrective action measures are applied to prevent reoccurrenceSupervise ware audits and report findings along with recommended corrective action plans. Interact with customers and customer service representative to solve problems and foster strong customer relationsOversee quality lab equipment calibrations and maintenanceManage lab supply inventory and orderingManage the measuring of glass containers and provide reportsPerform activities necessary for the effective management of the quality department by training and developing unionized workforceEstablish and maintain a safe, sustainable, and healthy work environmentComply with environmental and food safety standards as set forth in plant policies and programs within the departmental responsibilities

Minimum Skills / Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalentThree (3) years of experience in manufacturing qualityMust be able to handle multiple tasks in a team-based environmentMust have excellent presentation, interpersonal, and communication skills to interact effectively with management and outside customersMust have excellent problem-solving, planning, and organizational skillsMust be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred Skills / Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in math, engineering, or in a related fieldTwo years of experience leading in a manufacturing environmentPrior experience working with SAP ERPPrior experience working with a quality management systemPrior experience working in the glass container manufacturing environmentLean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification
